The Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) program was developed due to the rising demand for trained and experienced energy auditors and recognises professionals who have demonstrated high levels of competence and ethical fitness in energy auditing.

All CEAs listed have been trained by the SAEE’s training affiliate, the Energy Training Foundation (ETF), and Certification and renewal of Certification has been effected by the AEE.

CEA training and examination includes coverage of energy auditing methodology, auditing instrumentation, auditing tools, economic analysis, building systems technology, lighting, HVAC, building envelope, controls, boilers and steam systems, water auditing and reviewing auditing reports. Eligibility for certification includes completing the course and passing the exam, in addition to set pre-requisites which includes pre-existing qualifications and years of experience.
