The SAEE Awards Programme annually recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of individuals and companies in the energy field. The Awards are a token of recognition for the commitment to the profession, desire to further the association's mission, and participation in civic and community affairs. These Awards are presented at the SAEE’s Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony, held as part of the opening of the annual Southern African Energy Efficiency Convention and Exhibition.

The awards include the following:

• Energy Company of the Year
  Awarded to a company, that has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the energy industry in Southern Africa during the year.
  
  
• Energy Newcomer of the Year
  Awarded to a newcomer, in recognition of the individual’s outstanding achievements demonstrated within the energy industry, in Southern Africa during the year. 
  
  
• Excellence Award
  Awarded to recognize a company/individual whose role in the past year has made: outstanding contributions towards improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions; came up with new innovative means of conservation; or has advanced and expanded access to power and energy in Southern Africa in a sustainable manner.

• Energy Project of the year
  This is a new addition to the Awards Programme. Recognition is given to energy efficiency projects within the Southern African region that includes aspects of energy management and/or renewable energy installations in the residential, commercial or industrial sectors. Favorable consideration will be given to projects that consider the global environmental crisis and takes cognizance of sustainability. The project's achievements and results must be substantiated on submission of the nomination. Projects must have been completed and been in operation during the past year.

 
Nominations are open to SAEE MEMBERS ONLY, however the person or company being nominated does not have to be an SAEE Member.
