The 6th Southern African Energy Efficiency Convention (SAEEC2011) and Exhibition will this year be remembered for challenging delegates to choose between a black or bright future in South Africa. Exhibitors left nothing to chance and showcased a variety of energy efficient choices to make this possible, and 80 speakers inspired audiences with the message that energy efficiency makes sound business sense in all sectors of the economy.

Bursaries to students with energy efficiency vision for SA

The SAEE annually awards three bursaries to deserving students in the built environment, environmental and engineering fields of studies to encourage them to continue making contributions to an energy efficient economy for the country. This year a staggering 51 applications were received from educational institutions across the country. Students may also apply to become members of the SAEE at no charge.

The locally developed Phoenix alternative slurry pumping technology by International Slurry Pump Solutions (ISPS) was awarded the Energy Newcomer of the Year Award at the Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency’s (SAEE) Awards Ceremony last night. The Awards Ceremony formed part of the official annual SAEE Banquet which marked the opening of the 6th Southern African Energy Efficiency Convention (SAEEC2011) and Exhibition on the 16th of November 2011, held at Emperors Palace, Gauteng.
